Power Team Electrics — Terms & Conditions

By submitting an enquiry to, or instructing, Power Team Electrics (“we”, “us”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1) Our role & who provides the services

Power Team Electrics operates as a customer service and job coordination brand. We:

  • Handle enquiries, scheduling, communication and customer care

  • Provide quotations and administer invoicing/payment (unless otherwise agreed)

  • Arrange for an appropriately qualified electrician to attend and carry out the works

The electrical work itself is carried out by an independent electrician (“the Electrician”) who operates their own business.

2) Compliance, certification & Part P sign-off

Where work is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations (or otherwise requires certification), the following applies:

  • The Electrician is responsible for ensuring the work is designed, installed, tested and certified in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.

  • The Electrician will hold their own electrical certification/registration (for example, NICEIC or equivalent) and will sign off and certify the work in their own name.

  • Power Team Electrics does not certify or sign off electrical installation work and does not act as the Electrician’s certification body.

If certification is required, the customer must provide any reasonable information needed to complete the certification process (e.g., property details, access for testing, and any required documentation).

3) Invoicing & payment

  • Invoices are issued once the job has been completed, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • For larger projects, we may request an upfront deposit or staged instalments before work begins.

  • Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date.

  • If payment is not received within 21 days, we will pursue the debt through recovery procedures. All reasonable costs of recovery (including legal fees, court costs, collection charges and £100 for each hour spent working to recover the debt) will be added to the outstanding balance.

  • We accept payment by bank transfer.

4) Commercial clients & directors’ liability

Where services are provided to a company, the director(s) of that company will be held personally liable for payment should debt recovery action be required.

5) Call-out & pricing

  • Standard call-out charge in working hours (09:00–17:00 Mon–Fri, excluding bank holidays): £120 + VAT.

  • Out-of-hours call-out: £150 + VAT.

  • The call-out fee is the minimum charge for any attendance, regardless of time spent.

  • Additional labour during working hours (09:00–17:00 Mon–Fri, excluding bank holidays) is billed at £100 + VAT per hour.

  • Outside working hours, additional labour is billed at £120 + VAT per hour.

  • Additional labour is charged in 30-minute increments after the first hour (£50/£60 + VAT per 30 minutes, depending on whether the work is in-hours or out-of-hours).

Enquiries are free. If a site visit is required to refine a quotation before the job starts, this will be provided on a no-obligation basis.

6) Cancellations

Cancellations are free provided we receive a minimum of 12 hours’ notice. After this, a cancellation fee of £60 will be incurred.

7) Fixed-price quotations & changes

  • Where possible, we will provide fixed-price quotations.

  • Fixed prices are based on normal working conditions. If unforeseen problems arise due to factors outside the Electrician’s control (such as faults in existing wiring, poor building condition, or concealed damage), we reserve the right to adjust the price by billing additional hours and materials.

  • If incorrect information has been submitted in an enquiry, we reserve the right to adjust the job price to reflect changes to material and labour requirements.

8) Site facilities

Clients have the right to refuse access to their toilet facilities. However, where access is outright refused, engineers’ time spent locating and using off-site facilities will be charged at £120 + VAT per hour, proportionate to the time taken, and added to the final invoice.

9) Working conditions & behaviour

  • The Electrician will not work in unhygienic conditions. If a job cannot reasonably be carried out due to such conditions, work will be stopped. Any labour, time and materials supplied up to that point will remain chargeable.

  • We are happy to leave materials with the customer if they wish, but this is optional and must be agreed.

  • If the Electrician is subjected to abuse or threatening behaviour, they will immediately stop work and leave site, and the full agreed price of the job will be billable. If necessary, the relevant authorities and law enforcement will be contacted.

10) Health & safety

  • If we encounter an unsafe situation that prevents us from completing the work, we will stop until the problem has been rectified. Labour and materials supplied up to that point will still be billable.

  • If suspected asbestos is discovered, work will be suspended until appropriate testing has been carried out. Testing costs are the responsibility of the customer.

  • If asbestos is confirmed, work will remain suspended until it has been professionally removed.

  • If no asbestos is found, work will resume as planned.

11) Fault finding & diagnosis

  • Fault-finding and diagnostic work is chargeable according to our standard call-out and hourly rates (plus VAT).

  • Any repair or remedial work identified will be quoted separately and will not be carried out without prior client agreement.

12) Access & completion

  • The customer must provide reasonable access to the property and any information necessary to complete the work.

  • If we are unable to complete the job due to lack of access, labour and materials used up to that point will still be chargeable.

13) Amendments

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your instruction will apply to your contract with us.
