Power Team Electrics is a UK-based company that partners with self-employed electricians. We use advanced marketing systems and AI-powered pricing to send jobs to our engineer network while taking a commission. We handle payments, and engineers are paid once the customer is satisfied that the job has been completed to a high standard.

Unlike traditional subcontracting or employment models, our engineers are not managed—they are partners. They maintain their own freedom and responsibility, operating under their own brand with our livery. Our aim is to build the first truly national brand for electricians that empowers tradespeople while delivering consistent, professional service to customers across the country.

We are seeking to raise £100,000 in investment to fund early operations, marketing, and staff costs, allowing the founder to step away from the tools and build the business full-time.

THE PROBLEM

Most electricians in the UK operate as small, independent subcontractors. They face a number of hurdles including

  • inconsistent workloads, with many contractors being unreliable and letting them down last minute

  • Poor treatment by bosses who often underpay and treat subcontractors as disposable

  • Unfair management methods by those in charge - for example being paid by the hour. This means that electricians are penalized for working efficiently and encouraged to waste their time and customers to ensure they get paid how they should

  • It can be difficult to get paid. Many agreements are verbal, which means that hard working electricians are left vulnerable to either bad customers or contractors

  • Lack of any type of security or benefits - Most often electricians work as CIS subcontractors, meaning they are technically self employed. In practice however many have the same routine and are managed as though they are salaried, but do not receive any of the security or rights that salaried electricians are entitled to. This situation, rather than being the true experience of being self employed, is in practice just a less stable version of working a job

  • Many of these people would like to truly take control of their work, but simply don't know how. While many did just that at one stage but packed things in because while they may be a fantastic electrician, they struggled to run a business.

  • Online directories, while they provide exposure to a huge market for small businesses, often end up being a race to the bottom - electricians are one of many companies quoting for a single job, and so they have to offer their rock-bottom price while potentially having to price match cowboy tradespeople.
