MARKET OPPORTUNITY
The UK electrical services industry is worth over £25 billion annually, yet it remains highly fragmented. Around 95% of electrical businesses are made up of fewer than five people, and most rely entirely on word-of-mouth or online directories for work. There is no national brand that customers immediately think of when they need an electrician — a gap in a market that touches every home and business in the country.

During my time at British Gas, I learned first-hand how powerful a brand can be. Customers would happily pay significantly more for work through a known company like British Gas, even when the actual engineer performing the job could have done the same work privately for far less. This opened my eyes to just how much value strong branding and customer trust hold — and how independent electricians could capture more of that value if they were united under a single trusted name.
To give another personal example: my Grandma, in May 2025 paid £400 just to have a toilet flusher replaced — a small, simple job. This shows how customers, especially in affluent areas, are often willing to pay almost anything for reliability and convenience. She lives in Congleton in Cheshire.
I speak to customers every week who tell me the same thing: finding a good tradesperson is incredibly hard. Most don’t want to waste time searching for lower quotes once they’ve found someone competent and trustworthy.

At the same time, not all electricians are busy — even in areas where demand is high. Many struggle with marketing, branding, and lead generation. Countless electricians drive unbranded or poorly branded vans, missing valuable exposure, while others work as subcontractors for less money because they simply don’t know how to run a business or attract clients directly.
Power Team Electrics sits perfectly between these two sides of the problem. We bring the branding, structure, and marketing power of a major company while preserving the freedom and earning potential of self-employed tradespeople. Our platform connects the huge demand from homeowners with the underutilised supply of skilled electricians — and we’re ready to scale it.

We will begin in South Bucks, Watford, North London, and Surrey, areas known for their high household incomes and consistent demand for premium electrical work. From there, we will expand nationally, targeting affluent regions across Liverpool, Manchester, and the West Midlands.
